The Opportunity
We are looking for Procurement and Senior Procurement Managers who have extensive construction experience. You’ll be embedded in client organizations and responsible for all aspects of the procurement life cycle from developing the procurement strategies to managing the procurement process of large-scale projects that will shape the future. This role demands a strategic mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, extensive knowledge of running a procurement process, and a good understanding of construction contracts
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Draft and implement procurement strategies that align with project objectives and company goals.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure the best value and optimal delivery.
- Market engagement and soft market testing
- Procurement Management of all procurement activities including pre-qualification, invitations to tender, negotiating tenderer agreements, preparation of contracts, and conforming/executing contract agreements.
- Leadership: Mentoring and influencing project teams, at all levels, through effective communications and stakeholder engagement. The Senior Procurement Manager will be expected to lead and develop a team of procurement professionals.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities meet legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of governance.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Extensive experience in construction procurement, particularly with large civil and infrastructure projects.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of major construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and regulated public procurement processes.
- Education: Degree in the relevant field, and professional certifications like CIPS or PMP are highly desirable.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation, contract management, and leadership abilities, Working knowledge of regulated public procurement processes and requirements
