New Terminal at Schiphol International Airport, Netherlands
As part of the Schiphol Airport Capital Programme, the new terminal was planned to allow 14 million more passengers to travel through the airport. ACQ Consulting Limited were appointed by the Arcadis Mace JV to undertake the procurement. The brief from Schiphol was to appoint a Delivery Partner to work collaboratively with all parties and deliver a successful project ensuring the best in class. Dutch and International contractors were engaged and complying with the New Market Vision for the Building Industry in the Netherlands. The new Terminal was the largest construction project in the Netherlands at approx. €750m.
ACQ undertook extensive market engagement with the client’s procurement team to support the strategy and using a 2 stage approach on a FIDIC white book for the design stage 1 through to a red book for the stage 2 construction works stage, we were able to secure unprecedented interest from best in class construction companies. A number of companies were shortlisted at the PQQ stage and the tenders issued.
